What is that?

This is a question I hear often these days. It usually comes when I am out and about with the girls. People everywhere just need to know what this is:

(Elise took this picture.)

The short answer is this is Jamine. The whole explanation is a little long for a cashier at Target. Jasmine started off as a magic raccoon that Brian used in his shows and magic tricks. When Diana was little she went through a short phase where she liked to carry around the raccoon. During that time the raccon started to lose his tail. For a while he just lived with our other stuffed animals.

Sometime last fall Elise found the raccoon and decided that she was a kitty and her name was Jasmine. She liked to play with Jasmine but didn't become really attached to her until the last few months. All of you who have seen Elise recently know that Jasmine goes everywhere with her. If she ever has to leave Jasmine at home as soon as she gets back she will find Jasmine ask if I took good care of her. She really loves her Jasmine.

I love the picture of Elise sleeping with Jasmine. It is funny how so many children find a comfort item that adults just can't understand. Love, Draper Grandma
